ABOUT ME

 

     Quincy Genesis Harris (He/They) is a Denver born and raised 18 year old actor, singer, dancer, and overall artist. He has been studying, practicing, and perfecting his craft since the fifth grade. A recent graduate from the Denver School of the Arts, He has been rewarded such titles as Critics Choice monologue at the International Thespian  Convention in Lincoln, NE, as well as Critics Choice Group Musical at the Colorado Thespian Convention.  He has rounded resume with roles ranging from the minds of Anton Chekhov to the musical stylings of Shaiman and Wittman.

     Recently Quincy was accepted into one of the top conservatories in the US, the California Institute of the Arts with high hopes of being able to not only star in, but create brilliant works with the minds of collaborators from all over the world. 

     His most recent roles have been from original works including his senior classes senior project at Denver School of the Arts, Incrementum, as well as the old witch herself in the Baba Yaga.

     In addition to acting, Quincy has fallen in love with directing after being allowed the chance to assistant direct a production of The Laramie Project, as well as direct his own one act movement oriented edition of Lungs, by Duncan McMillan. He, alongside the 2016 class at D.S.A., also created their own version of the Neo-Futurists of Chicago/New York inspired Too Much Light; in which he wrote pieces stemming from the internalized homophobia of America, to a comedic piece about the sheer worship of Beyonce. He is currently writing a show that is very personal to his family story in hopes it will be ready for it's Denver premiere soon.  

     Trained by various incredible guest artist in his life, including Harvey Blanks who recently made his Broadway premier in August Wilson's Jitney, along with various MA trained actors, such as Juilliard alum voice/speech coach Damien Lewis, and his legendary dance teacher Candy Ann Brown, seasoned Broadway veteran, who can been seen in the original broadway casts of Chicago and Pippin, and various TV appearances. 

     An openly gay non-binary identifying male, Quincy soon hopes to work in TV/Film.  He hopes to improve the representation of all human beings on the screen, and to become a role model and advocate for those like him who have been silenced and hidden for so long. An actor/artist and activist, Quincy co-founded Culture of Survivors, a Denver based group of artists hoping to spread change and growth through the community via art.  They want to spread awareness of the #Black Lives Matter campaign. Quincy hopes his art will go so much further than just himself; but to impact others as well. To change minds, move hearts, and spark important conversation, all whilst entertaining, are just a few examples of what he stands for. Coming soon to take the world by storm.
